Start brake caliper servicing and repair by taking away the disc brake caliper followed by draining the brake fluid from the system. A secured caliper needs to have air pressure applied to its fluid port using low pressure while using a wooden block between the bridge and pistons to push them out. Discard storage space the piston seals along with piston boots after removing the halting device. The calibration of caliper bores should be avoided since pistons are unavailable for honed bores. To address leaks install new piston seals while replacement of the caliper becomes necessary if bores show excessive scoring or corrosion. New brake fluid must always be used during assembly since wiped piston seals and dust boots should never be reused. Apply High Performance DOT 3 Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB or a DOT 3 equivalent that meets Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A to the piston boot and caliper piston together with cylinder bore and piston seal. Install the piston seal and boot taking care to avoid seal damage when inserting the caliper piston then push it straight into the bore without twisting it. The disc brake caliper must be fully installed as the last step of the procedure.
