The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on a 4R100 Transmission on 7.3L Diesel engines can be serviced by raising the vehicle, un-connection of VSS connector, removing the bolt and sensor, and removing the driven gear. Install the gear and VSS again, stabilize them, reconnect the connector and lower the vehicle.
