The Accelerator Cable pin-type retainer must be detached from the accelerator control splash shield before removing the splash shield. Drivers should break the accelerator cable from its bulkhead position by using internal compression on its retaining cable tabs. The throttle body cam accepts the accelerator cable before removing both the cable and its current clip which gets disposed. To install the accelerator cable to the accelerator cable bracket use compression on its retaining tabs.
