Tear damage to the hook-and-loop strips connecting the pad to the cushion foam should be avoided when removing the cushion trim cover from its place. When replacing the heater mat wire harness initiate by threading its components back into the cushion trim cover if equipped before releasing the hook-and-loop strips. The retainer connecting the cover wire to the cushion foam pad needs removal along with its respective clips before taking out the cushion trim cover. The return process for reinstallation matches the disassembly process exactly. The new heater mat ships with its own fresh foam pad already integrated to it.
