  The first step for camshaft service and repair involves disconnecting the battery ground cable followed by removing the engine air cleaner. Begin the camshaft maintenance by unscrewing the three valve cover securing bolts and gasket together with the camshaft front seal. You will remove the Ignition Coil after disconnecting both the radio interference capacitor and ignition coil electrical connectors and uninstalling its mounting bolts. Set the ignition coil to the side. The next steps include removing ignition coil bolts and bracket first and eight valve tappets after them. The two bolts together with the camshaft thrust plate need removal so discard the cup plug located at the cylinder head's rear section. Thoroughly remove the camshaft through the back side of the cylinder head. The first step for installation requires engine oil coating of the cylinder head cam bore which allows the camshaft insertion through its rear entrance. Attach the camshaft thrust plate and its bolts after securing the cup plug in position and followed by reinstallation of eight valve tappets and rocker arms. Attaching the bracket and ignition coil together with radio interference capacitor requires proper electrical connector connection. After completing all other reinstallation steps you should put the camshaft front seal in place then mount the valve cover, engine air cleaner and reestablish the battery ground connection.
