Service of the computer sensor/switch for coolant temperature begins by emptying the engine cooling system and removing the battery ground cable. Begin service of the coolant temperature sensor by first removing the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor through disconnecting its electrical connector. For new engine coolant temperature sensor installation reverse the removal process while applying Ford Pipe Sealant with Teflon D8AZ-19554-A or an equivalent product from WSK-M2G350-A2 Ford specification on the sensor threads. Refollow the procedure for adding coolant into the engine cooling system.
