How to service and repair the oil pump on Ford Excursion?

Removal of the engine front cover, crankshaft sprockers and oil pan are necessary to service the oil pump, disconnecting the battery ground cable. Removal of oil pump bolts and pump. Wipe down surfaces, fit a new pump, hook on bolts, tighten them in turn, refit oil pan and timing chain, reconnect battery.
