How to Service and Repair the Steering Shaft on Ford Excursion?

The steering column shaft needs servicing while the intermediate shaft remains stationary for preventing Clock Spring damage; if rotation took place then remove and recenter the Clock Spring before continuing. Detach the intermediate shaft from the steering gear through bolt removal before taking out the dust shield from the steering gear housing. Drain the intermediate shaft lower pinch bolt before pulling the intermediate shaft away from the steering gear input shaft. The total installation process requires the execution of steps that were previously used for removal.
