Maintaining the throttle body requires following safety protocols consisting of keeping away from smoking or open flames near fuel-related components because highly flammable mixtures present a risk for personal harm. The special coating of the throttle body bore and plate area cannot be removed through cleaning methods. Take off the air cleaner outlet pipe before disconnecting the throttle position sensor electrical connector and then remove the accelerator controls which require disconnecting the accelerator cable and speed control cable and return spring. No further use exists for the throttle body gasket following its removal. Take out the throttle body by first removing all its bolts. Remove it together with its gasket. The service completion follows the opposite order of the removal sequence.
