How to service and repair the lower control arm on Ford Explorer?

When fixing the lower control arm, measure the distance between the hub and the fender, take the wheel off and lift up the suspension. Trim off the bottom arm bolts and stabilizer links. Fit the new lower arm and bolts without tightening and raise the suspension, tighten all parts and re-fit the wheel.

How to service and repair the upper control arm on Ford Explorer?

In order to fix the upper control arm, the hub-to-fender distance is to be measured, and the wheel is to be taken off and the suspension lifted up. Change the outboard nut and bolt of the upper arm, and a non-flagnut to use in the position of the arm. Install new bolts, tighten to required torque, lower suspension and check rear alignment.
