How to service and repair the instrument panel dimmer switch on Ford Explorer?

The instrument panel dimmer switch is serviced by removing the driver side register and then loosening the instrument panel. Next, remove the headlamp switch and bezel together and unconnect the electrical connectors. The two tabs should be released to take the dimmer switch out. The only thing to do to install a new switch is to reverse these steps.
