How to service the throttle cable and linkage on Ford F-150 Heritage?

Start the throttle cable and linkage service by disconnecting the accelerator cable both from the accelerator pedal and shaft. First uninstall the three bolts that secure the accelerator control splash shield before removing the splash shield from its position. Start by removing the cable from its retaining clip followed by pressing the accelerator cable lock tabs inside the passenger compartment. Then slide the cable into the engine compartment area. To disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body cam you should rotate the throttle lever forward. The snap-in-end fitting of the accelerator cable should be unscrewed from its bracket to extract the accelerator cable. To install the parts use the opposite steps of removal.
