How to service and repair the turn signal switch on Ford F-150?

In order to fix the turn signal switch, disconnect the battery, pull out the ignition switch lock cylinder, and the tilt wheel handle. Open the cover of steering column down clicking the gear selection and releasing clips. Take off steering column shrouds and multi-function switch. Reboot sequentially with some possible drive symptoms observed.
