The Ford Flex alternator as one of the parts that magnify the reliability and performance of the Ford Flex models. In addition to being an alternator for the battery, Alternator operates as a mobile generator to power the car by generating an AC power from a mechanical energy derived from the engine's TC and rectifying the AC into DC power. This process does not only charge the battery but also, charges other electrical equipment making the Ford Flex even more efficient and safe. Suitable for different models of the Ford Flex cars, the alternator is manufactured to cater for both the basic and heave models in the Flex series, it can handle the electrical loads of additional parts fitted in the car it charges. The Ford flex alternator being designed with a two-piece cast aluminum housing accommodates necessary internal gear such as the stator, rotor, diodes, voltage regulator and among others hence the excellent performance. In particular, a Alternator is considered in the automotive market as the car part that can manage more electrical loads than other similar products, so it is perfect both for families and for real adventurers. Abiding by the Alternator's core role of preserving the battery health and charging the vehicle's electrical system, it is evident that Ford strives to produce well-built and innovative products, thus making traveling in a Ford Flex not only safe, but also fun.

Ford Flex Alternator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the alternator on Ford Flex?
    A:
The primary step for repairing the alternator starts with battery disconnection. Start by putting both the B+ terminal and the nut aside after you remove the B+ nut and position the generator protective cover to the side. Disconnect the generator electrical connector while moving aside the harness. The accessory Drive Belt requires removal from the generator when the cooling fan assembly is detached from the protrusions for the generator and the accessory drive belt tensioner is tuned to loosen the belt. First remove the upper generator nut along with the stud and next loosen up the lower generator bolt before taking out the generator. You should first place the generator onto position and then use your hands to tighten its lower bolt. Fasten the generator stud at 8 Nm (71 lb-in) while the generator nut requires 47 Nm (35 lb-ft) torque. The lower generator bolt should be torqued to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft). The accessory drive belt tensioner rotations will enable you to fix the belt on the generator unit before reinstalling the cooling fan assembly. The operator needs to connect the generator electrical connector and install the generator B+ terminal before tightening the B+ terminal nut to 17 Nm (150 lb-in). Finally, reconnect the Battery Cable.
