The Parking Brake Cable is an important assembly component that highlights the Ford Flex series' dependability and power. This cable is mainly involved in the operation of the parking brake system in such a way that the Ford Flex is well secured in place, especially on slopes, making efficiency and safety to be in an advanced level. Made for use on most Ford Flex models, the Parking Brake Cable interconnects the parking brake and the vehicles braking system to ensure that the vehicle does not roll. This component cannot be overemphasized; a Parking Brake Cable that is either worn out or damaged will not effectively engage the parking brake; hence compromising safety. It means that for the Parking Brake Cable to have optimum performance and free from any worry, then of course, it should be maintained accordingly and always. For instance, the Ford Flex has a rather adjustable wheel base and interior space is substantial, hence making the car highly suitable for any family. The parking brake cable is sturdy something that is embedded in Ford engineering the company has endured for a long time. Also, the Parking Brake Cable can be pointed out in the automobile market as it perfectly compatible with the car's complex braking system and operates effectively when the car is driven under different conditions. The Parking Brake Cable just like other Ford automotive spare parts demonstrates the company's policy on safety and performance which is why it is a recommended auto part for any Flex car.

Ford Flex Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and replace the rear parking brake cables on Ford Flex?
    A:
The first step to uninstall and replace rear parking brake cables is releasing the tension on the parking brake cables. The right-hand (RH) cable may be removed by first Americanizing the cable-to-cable union followed by its separation from the left-hand (LH) cable at the conduit equalizer until the cable becomes free from the wireform bracket. The three parking brake cable bracket bolts can be removed at this stage after you tighten them to 15 Nm (133 lb-in) for installation. The RH wheel well bracket bolt needs removal while its final installation torque should be set to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft). Begin by disconnecting the conduit equalizer from the RH cable before using the screwdriver to remove the wireform bracket bolt and separate the LH cable with bracket from the RH cable. The bolt needs to be tightened to 12 Nm (106 lb-in) upon replacement. A 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque value should be applied to the LH wheel well bracket bolt when reinstalling because it needs to be tightened to this specifications. You should finish uninstallation by freeing both parking brake cables from their position on the Brake Caliper and then removing them. The installation procedure will be the reverse of removal while a proper inspection of the parking brake system must be performed to ensure correct function.
