Clean brake fluid is required to bleed the brake caliper and the master cylinder should be full. Spills on painted surfaces should be avoided. Take the bleeder screw cap off, connect a hose, and have somebody pump the brake pedal. Tighten or loosen the screw until the clear fluid is flowing and then tighten. Continue until clear fluid is obtained.
