The first step to servicing or repairing the headlamp dimmer switch requires removing the steering column opening trim panel through pulling on the upper edge to detach top retainers followed by pulling the lower edge both upward and outward to free bottom retainers positioned near the bottom corners. Purchasers having tilt steering columns must first release the steering column tilt lever before continuing. Start by taking out the three screws holding the upper and lower steering column shrouds while pressing the upper shroud sides to detach it from the lower shroud. Ease the multifunction switch electrical connector then free the switch by removing its two holding screws. The installation process ends by performing the reverse order from removal.
