    The first step in servicing and repairing the transmission selector lever requires SRS depowering according to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) depowering and repowering procedures. kocme the two steering column opening cover screws from the instrument panel lower side with 12 Nm torque value (9 ft. lbs) then tighten these screws during reinstallation. The service begins by separating and removing the left-hand and right-hand instrument panel finish panels and follows with the screws and instrument panel opening cover reinforcement. Installation requires tightening all elements to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Replace the steering column opening brace screws by securing them to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.) before reinstalling. Set aside the selector lever indicator cable while loosening its screw for disconnecting the cable before moving on. To remove the ignition switch lock cylinder positioning the component at RUN then activate the lock cylinder release pin for cylinder extraction. First remove the tilt wheel handle and shank then take out the three screws from the lower steering column shroud. The next step requires removing the four nuts together with the bracket to enable lowering of the steering column before applying torque to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) during reinstallation. First remove the upper steering column shroud and remove both the gearshift lever pin and the gearshift lever while casting out the old pin which cannot be reused.
