Ford Freestar Fuel Pressure Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Fuel Pressure Sensor on the Fuel Rail on Ford Freestar?
A: The service process of the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor begins with disconnection of the battery ground cable. Safety requires that you must relieve fuel system pressure since it stays at high pressure after shutting down the engine. The service process starts with disconnecting both the electrical connector and vacuum hose that connect to the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor. Begin by taking out the sensor after unscrewing its two bolts. You should install the new sensor with 5 Nm (44 lb-in) torque value on the bolts then test the O-ring seal for replacements if needed. The new O-ring requires cleaning engine oil for lubrication before putting theparts together in the opposite order to finish the mounting.
