  A: The first step when servicing the selector lever cable involves checking that the vehicle sits in NEUTRAL position and rests on a hoist. Begin by removing the air cleaner along with its outlet pipe followed by center console disassembly. The end of the selector lever cable must be disconnected from the selector lever followed by pressing the tab on the cable while pulling it out from the housing. You must expose the cable retainer along with rubber grommet by pulling away carpet and insulation before taking out the two instrument panel brace bolts.
