Before uninstalling or installing the floor console from all vehicles position the front seats forward and remove the two rear bolts that secure the console assembly. Press the front seats further into the cabin before beginning work. Position the parking brake handle to the highest point when the vehicle has this feature. When replacing the floor console with automatic transmission in Fusion and Milan models you need to take off the trim ring that goes under the finish panel. Begin by following these steps in the order listed. Start by detaching the gear
Shift Knob and then remove the storage panel. Take out the floor console finish panel only if your vehicle has an automatic transmission. Take out all electrical connections first and on Fusions and Milans remove the utility tray followed by disconnected electrical and audio jack links. Take off the two bolt covers then the two bolts from the floor console. At both sides you need to take off the side finish panels and the console-to-instrument panel bolts. After removing all four bolts adjust the floor console from its location. Follow the opposite order to reinstall the part.
