Service and repair operations for the seat heater switch and seat control switch require removal of the front seat as the first step. Begin by removing the spring clip combined with any manual recliner handle while also pulling out the manual lumbar control knob and seat control switch button(s) when these options exist. Remove both the cushion side shield with its single-use retainers from the system. The passenger seat needs its scrivet removed before pulling on both side and rear portions of the cushion side shield to free its retainers for wire harness separation from the shield. Gently take off the side shield together with all remaining side shield retainers from the seat and dispose of them. To install the cushion side shield you need to use a new shield along with brand new retainers. First disconnect the seat control switch followed by releasing the retainer parts of the cushion while removing the seat control switch. Reinstall the unit after undoing the steps used during removal.
