In order to service the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) System Oil Filter, first step is to disassemble the plug, solenoid (Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) and the oil filter located in the intake camshaft thrust cap. Installation To install the new filter, screw it on tight to 17 Nm (150 lb-in), and reverse the disassembly procedure to complete the installation.

In order to service the oil filter, place the vehicle on neutral on a hoist. Take the screws off the oil filter access cover, loosen the drain plug and rotate the oil filter cover. Drain, take off the filter and cover and clean off the surfaces and replace with new parts, being careful not to overtighten. Install access cover, where necessary.
