The first procedure for servicing or repairing the evaporative emission canister purge valve starts with disconnecting the electrical connector that connects to the valve. The identification tag at the end of the upper vapor tube must stay attached to the upper port of the EVAP canister purge valve during removal and replacement operations. The first maintenance step requires users to remove both quick connect couplings connecting the vapor tube to the EVAP canister purge valve. Pressing the release tab will allow you to take the valve off its mounting bracket. You should reinstall the new valve by doing the opposite steps of removal. Complete leakage testing of the evaporative emission system and carry out an EVAP verification drive cycle after the installation.
