How to remove and replace the parking brake cable on Ford Taurus X?

In order to change the parking brake cable, de-tension, take off three bolts between the bracket and loosen three bracket bolts (tighten to 12 Nm), and disconnect the intermediate cable with the front and rear cables. Unscrew the LH rear cable followed by reversing the process and checking the parking brake system was working correctly.
