  A: The first step for accelerator pedal servicing requires a trim tool to detach the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever by pushing on the lock tab and turning the device counterclockwise to remove it from the accelerator cable bracket. Start by detaching the accelerator cable from its retaining clip and remove the hush panel through this process: remove the nut first and then the pin-type retainers and disconnect the lamp before completing its removal.
