How to service the muffler on Ford Thunderbird?

In order to service the muffler, lift the car and place a jackstand under the exhaust pipes. Use insulators of exhaust hangers that are not damaged, lubricate them with silicone and then remove them. Separate the isolators, and take out the muffler and resonator assembly. Full installation is by reversing the steps of removal.
