  The repair and servicing of cruise control servos starts with disconnecting the battery ground cable. The first step requires removing the engine air cleaner assembly. You must disconnect the speed control servo electrical connector before removing the screws which secure the speed control servo bracket. Before working on the speed control actuator cable cap depression of the locking tab allows counterclockwise rotation that frees the cap. Begin removing the speed control actuator cable from the speed control servo pulley through two steps that start with removing the speed control cable slug followed by removal of the actuator cable. When you open the throttle it will decrease tension on the speed control actuator cable. During installation you must insert the speed control cable slug into the slot of the speed control servo pulley where the locking spring should snap. Insert the speed control actuator cable cap into the speed control servo housing slots before seating it properly when all rubber seals are in position. Check the speed control actuator cable installation since an improper bundling around the speed control servo pulley may lead to high idle conditions. Insert the speed control servo bracket screws and reconnect the speed control servo electrical connector after rotating the cap clockwise until the locking tab touches position. Return the engine air cleaner assembly to its position followed by reinstallation of the battery ground cable. During the relearning process of the adaptive strategy the vehicle may display abnormal drive symptoms which will require driving for at least 16 km (10 miles).
