How to service and repair the accelerator cable on Lincoln Aviator?

The cable to the accelerator is removed to be serviced by taking it off the rubber plunger, disconnecting it with the accelerator pedal and disconnecting it with the throttle body linkage. To release it out of the bracket, squeeze the tabs and then pull the accelerator cable boot to the unlock position and remove the cable.
