How to service the Engine Control Module on Lincoln Aviator?

The service of the Engine Control Module begins with first disconnecting the battery ground cable. The procedure starts with taking out the RF door scuff plate followed by the RH cowl side trim panel. When handling the powertrain control module PCM disconnect its electrical connectors before uninstalling while you should fasten mounting nuts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during reassembly. Move the glove box below its stops before unconnecting its side-mounted cable. Securing the PCM bracket with a 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque value needs to be performed during installation. Locate and remove the pin-type retainer before placing the sound deadening insulation in an upward direction. Lower the glove box until it reaches the stops then disconnect the cable located on its side and remove the lower screw that secures the fuel pump driver module along with its repositioning and electrical connector disconnection. As the final step remove the PCM together with its bracket before reinstalling through the reverse order of removal.
