The process to service a thermostat on a 5.4L (3V) engine requires one to drain the cooling system, disconnect the upper radiator hose, remove the air cleaner intake pipe, and disconnect the upper radiator hose. Take out the bolts of the thermostat housing followed by the housing. Install a new thermostat, lubricate the new O-ring and fill the cooling system.
