The proper curing process for silicone sealant requires one hour before lubricant addition. Place a continuous strip of clear silicone rubber after which the differential housing cover needs installation with its 10 bolts secured at 23 Nm (17 lb-ft). Add 1.15L (2.43 pt) of rear axle lubricant until it reaches 3-5 mm (0.118-0.196 in) below the bottom of the filler hole. Reinstall the filler plug and torque it to 29 Nm (21 lb-ft).
