Service and repair of the right-hand (RH) exhaust manifold starts by taking off the RH catalytic converter while disconnecting the RH heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector. Begin by taking out six nuts which secure the RH exhaust manifold before trashing both the nuts and the gasket. You should clean the RH exhaust manifold and then remove six RH exhaust manifold studs while discarding all of them. The use of plastic scrapers should replace metal scrapers and wire brushes or abrasive tools because they can make leaks happen through surface scratching or gouging. Follow the product instructions when cleaning the exhaust manifold mating surface on the cylinder head with metal surface prep. The installation requires new six red-hand exhaust manifold studs that need torque adjustment to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Two torques rounds on the exhaust manifold nuts remain crucial to avoid exhaust leakage. After installing a new gasket in place, the RH exhaust manifold should get its support from six new nuts which must be torqued two times first to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) and second to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft). The installation process should end with connecting the RH HO2S electrical connector followed by reinstallation of the RH catalytic converter.
