    Q: How to Service and Repair the Fuel Filler Hose on Lincoln MKX?
    A: Start the initial step of filling tank repair work by placing the automobile in NEUTRAL gear position on a hoist. The service and repair of the fuel tank filler pipe begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable because electrical issues may occur. Twist the fuel tank filler cap counterclockwise only a quarter turn to break loose the thread connections and place it aside. Use a suitable semi-rigid fuel drain tube with 120 inches length to reach the fuel tank through the fuel tank filler pipe. A full fuel tank will cause the fuel to drop beneath the inlet. The Fuel Storage Tanker should be connected to the drain tube to extract about 3 gallons of fuel from a complete tank. Three retaining screws holding the fuel tank filler pipe flange should be removed while tightening them to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) when reinstalling. Start by disconnecting the left rear wheel together with the tire then unfasten the ten screws and four pin-type retainers which secure the left rear splash shield. When working with the fuel compartment pipe ensure caution because fuel remains present in it. Drain any trapped fuel into a suitable container after unfurling the clamp and tightening it to 4 Nm (35 lb-in). Reinstall the fuel tank filler pipe bracket with two bolts while tightening them to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). Reverse all steps of removal to reassemble both the new and repaired fuel tank filler pipe onto the vehicle. Follow safe operation guidelines when working with fuel since they protect against ignition and personal injuries.
