To maintain the sunroof or moonroof windguard, fully open the roof panel, unscrew the air deflector (tighten to 1 Nm) and unlock the spring on each side to pull the assembly off. Installation and the initiation of the roof motor follow steps in reverse order.

How to service and repair the sunroof Air Deflector on Lincoln MKZ?

Service the sunroof/ moonroof windglass: Open the roof glass completely. Turn-off the front of the air deflector, undo two screws (retorque to 1 Nm/9 lb-in on install). Lift and pull up all four side springs to pull off. Re-attach the panel motor of the roof opening in reverse and initialise, where necessary.
