How to service and repair the instrument panel dimmer switch on Lincoln MKZ?

The first step to repair or service an instrument panel dimmer switch is to eliminate its finish panel from the side of the instrument panel. To detach the switch you must push it from the rear side followed by tab release to extract the headlamp switch assembly while disconnecting its electrical wires. The instrument panel dimmer switch can be removed through the release of four tabs. The installation of the new switch requires the same step-by-step reversal of the removal actions.
