Pull out the two J-clips from the lower backrest trim cover before using the pin-type retainer to uninstall the attaching strap from the left side of the cover. To access and remove the center screw and release the two pin-type retainers the backrest requires raising to an upright position after removing its right-hand side shield and two screws. Next to detach the right-hand attaching strap follow the noted strap routing instructions and then remove the pin-type retainer. Follow the appropriate procedures to remove the bolt which will detach the safety belt retractor anchor while ensuring proper tightening at 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
