Start by draining transmission fluid through the process of loosening bolts from the transmission fluid pan before removing the bolts completely. Remove the transmission fluid pan and gasket before pulling down equally to detach both the transmission fluid filter and seal. Check and inspect both the transmission fluid pan alongside its gasket and the magnet. Users should inspect the main control bore for any remaining seal during filter installation while using a small screwdriver and being watchful for bore damage. A new filter and seal need installation if the service causes contamination failure but the filter can be used again if no severe contamination exists. Place the transmission fluid pan in its proper position and install it with a gasket yet ensure the gasket remains undamaged and clean for future use. Additionally install any required new filter components and seal. Position the pan magnet inside the fluid pan. The maintenance procedure requires the addition of 4.7 liters (5 quarts) of clean automatic transmission fluid until it reaches the appropriate level mark.
