How to remove and replace the Valve Stem Seal, spring, and retainer on Lincoln MKS?

When changing the valve spring, retainer and valve stem seal, make sure it is clean to prevent contamination. Disassemble the valve tappets, turn the crankshaft until the piston is at the top and find a support to hold the valve when needed. Components can be removed with compressed air and Valve Spring Compressors, and then the valve stem seal is discarded.

In order to service the valve guide seals place the car in neutral on a hoist. Take out the valve springs and worn seals. Install new seals making sure that they fit on the valve seat and have the garter spring in position. Install the valve springs with the help of valve spring compressor.
