Lincoln Zephyr A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser core of the HVAC system on Lincoln Zephyr?
A: Start the servicing process of the HVAC system condenser core by recovering the refrigerant through proper procedures. The vehicle should be placed at NEUTRAL position before lifting onto a hoist. First remove the filler neck bolt on the washer reservoir then the nuts securing the two condenser fittings before disconnecting these fittings by throwing away the gasket seals. During reinstallation you should fasten the condenser fittings with 11 lb-ft (15 Nm). Move the cooling module toward the back after freeing the two radiator brackets from the radiator core support and then eliminate both brackets. A drain pan needs to be positioned below every power steering hose connection before unclamping the two power steering hose clamps at the condenser's ends to disconnect the hoses. First disconnect the condenser manifold pin-type retainer before removing the two condenser clips at the radiator to separate the condenser from the radiator for removal of the condenser core. The new condenser installation requires reversing all steps of removal and adding new gasket seals followed by proper PAG oil lubrication of the refrigerant system. Complete the procedure by filling the power steering system then evacuating it followed by leak testing and charging the refrigerant system.
