Lincoln Zephyr A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly on Lincoln Zephyr?
A: Starting the service and repair process for the compressor manifold and tube assembly requires refrigerant recovery. A service position involves neutrality on a hoist while removing the lower engine splash shield if present. To detach the compressor manifold from the A/C compressor you must remove the manifold bolt followed by gasket seal discarding and tighten new installation to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Remove the two coolant reservoir hose retainers from the assembly before taking off the washer reservoir filler neck bolt which must be tightened to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) when reinstalling it. Tighten the new installation to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque after completing the disconnect of the compressor manifold and tube suction fitting by discarding the gasket seal. Use the same method to stop and detach the condenser inlet fitting nut before disconnecting the fitting while getting rid of the gasket seal then securing the new installation with 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) torque. Reverse the removal procedure while installing all components so reinstall new gasket seals and fill the refrigeration system with correct quantities of clean PAG oil. The last steps include system evacuation together with leak testing then charging the refrigerant system.
