  Q: How to service the lower intake manifold on Lincoln Zephyr?

  A: Begin by executing safety measures first because the lower intake manifold contains highly flammable mixture combinations. Start by easing fuel system pressure and disconnect the battery ground cable before proceeding. First detach the upper intake manifold while also separating the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling from the Fuel Rail. Start the procedure by unfastening the two wiring harness retainers which secure the left-hand valve cover stud bolts and proceed with removing the three pin-type retainers connected to the fuel rail. The procedure starts by disconnecting six fuel injector electrical connectors and continuing with the removal of eight lower intake manifold bolts and the final step involves discarding both gaskets. All sealing surfaces need to be clean and inspected before the new gaskets and lower intake manifold can be installed with eight bolts tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) using the specified installation order. The fuel rail requires three pin-type retainers and six fuel injector electrical connectors must be reinstalled before attaching the two wiring harness retainers to the left-hand valve cover stud bolts. The owner can proceed with attaching the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling to the fuel rail before installing the upper intake manifold and then reattaching the battery ground cable.
