Lincoln Zephyr Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on Lincoln Zephyr?
A: The radiator servicing requires draining the cooling system as a first step. The service procedure starts by removing the cooling fan components and following it up with detachment of power steering hose from the radiator. Start by removing the radiator-to-upper hose along with its retainer and then disconnect the degas bottle hose from the radiator. Automatic transmission vehicles require users to disconnect their two transmission cooling tubes from the radiator and then tightening each connection to a torque of 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) before reinstallation. Begin the process by removing the lower radiator hose followed by lifting out the tabs from the upper radiator support before moving the radiator in front of the engine. First disconnect the A/C Condenser-to-radiator pushpin-type retainer before squeezing its tabs which will enable the A/C condenser separation from the radiator and subsequent radiator removal. The cooling system filling and bleeding operations must be performed after reversing the removal operations.
