How to Service and Repair the Trunk Latch on Mercury Grand Marquis?

The first step to service the luggage compartment lid latch is to disconnect its electrical connector. The service requires removal of the lock cylinder cable from the lock cylinder. Unfasten the bolts securing the luggage compartment lid latch before removing it. The installation process ends with removing the new latch and tightening its bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb-in) before returning to the reversal steps of removal.
