How to Service the Oil Pressure Switch on Mercury Mariner?

Service the oil pressure switch by keeping the vehicle on a hoist in NEUTRAL position. The right-hand splash shield requires removal of five bolts which need tightening to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) when reinstalling them. The service requires disconnecting the electrical connector from the oil pressure switch followed by switch removal while tightening the installation to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). The installation process becomes the reverse order of removal while using Teflon-sealed pipe sealant on the oil pressure switch threads.
