How to Remove and Replace a Flywheel Using Special Bolts on Mercury Milan?

Start the flywheel removal and installation procedure by having the vehicle in NEUTRAL gear on a hoist. Removal of the clutch must precede the process of unbolting the flywheel using its six mounting screws. Installation of the flywheel requires specialized bolts that should not be interchange with regular bolts. Observe a three-step procedure during bolt installation of the flywheel by first tightening to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft), proceeding to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) and finally countering the bolts to 112 Nm (83 lb-ft). The clamping of the flywheel demands completion before you can begin attaching the clutch and manual transaxle.
