How to service and repair the front brake caliper on Mercury Monterey?

The repair and servicing of front brake calipers should start with placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL gear while it rests on a hoist. Washers are discarded while removing the brake caliper flow bolt situated between the two copper washers. The brake caliper attachment requires removal of the two brake caliper bolts. Install the new caliper by properly positioning its guide pin boots and locator pin boots to avoid harm to the system. Check the guide pin and locator pin while providing them with necessary silicone grease applications. Secure both guide pin caliper bolts to 35 Nm torque (26 ft. lbs.) while starting with the bottom locator pin bolt then moving to the top guide pin bolt. Put back the brake caliper flexible hose and install and tighten the brake caliper flow bolt with pre-installed new copper washers (55 Nm; 41 ft. lbs.). Bleeding of the brake caliper finally finishes the installation procedures. The use of approved DOT 3 motor vehicle brake fluid along with safety measures to protect eyes and painted and plastic surfaces are necessary to prevent enduring damage to brake components.
