  A: Service operations and repairs for the rear parking brake cable must start with placing the vehicle in neutral gear and positioning it on a hoist. The parking brake rear cable should first be disconnected from the equalizer before removing it from the brake caliper lever arm. The brake caliper bracket cable must be disconnected along with its conduit followed by removal of the bolt from the spring pocket wireform bracket at 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) torque setting during reinstallation. The procedure for the trailing arm wireform bracket involves removing its bolt while tightening it to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) at installation time. Remove the rear cable and conduit together from the body through the spring tabs on the cable end until the parking brake cable becomes free of the vehicle assembly. The installation ends with restaging the process of removal in the reverse order.
