How to service and repair the coolant reservoir on Mercury Mountaineer?

In order to service and repair the coolant reservoir it is important to drain the cooling system first. Next, take out air cleaner outlet tube and engine air cleaner. Then remove the two bolts and unscrew the coolant hoses. Unscrew the bolt and get the Degas bottle out. In order to fit the degas bottle, just reverse these steps.

How to Service the Coolant Reservoir on Mercury Mountaineer?

To maintain the coolant expansion tank, make sure that the engine is cool, and then disconnect the overflow hose and (when necessary) deconnect the MAF sensor wiring. Disassemble the tank bolts, lift out the tank and re-assemble tightening bolts to 7 Nm. Load a 50/50 coolant and water mixture.
