You must detach the hood latch before working on the hood cable. Start by unclipping the hood latch control handle and cable retainer from the inside fender splash shield after which you should put these components aside. First disconnect the hood latch control handle along with the cable by removing its two retaining screws before placing these components out of the way. The next step involves evacuating the hood latch control and cable grommet from the dash panel before taking out the hood latch control handle and cable. The installation requires the opposite steps used during removal in order to finish the process.
